Our school has been on a transformational journey. The dramatic changes in the school have been achieved in part, by developing an aspirational culture, with creativity at its heart. Work related learning is embedded throughout Year 7 and 8 leading to accelerated progress from year 9 onwards. Behaviour has gone from Ofsted grade 4 to a final monitoring visit where none of our 900 children were seen to misbehave.
Achievement is now in the top 9% nationally. Converting to an 11-16 school has also enabled us to create a curriculum where it is compulsory for all pupils study a creative programme alongside our other seven areas of learning; we call this the Hump Bacc.
The Hump Bacc comprises of English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Creative, Personal, Physical and International.
