At at KS4 we offer a very broad range of subjects and art forms (music, art, textiles, graphics, drama, dance, performing arts and media studies) in both GCSEs and BTECs. Uptake in these subjects has remained consistent in the last few years and results in these areas are representative of the best in school. Many of these KS4 students continue with their arts subjects into sixth form.
The impact of the arts in our school is significant and the quality of work within the subjects means that a large number of students pursue arts extra-curricular activities. This also allows those students who have not pursued an art in their curriculum choice, the opportunity to participate and flourish. Our links with the community are also diverse; there are a number of performances, exhibitions and collaborations with artists and the local community throughout the year. This has strengthened our relationship with the community and provided an improved experience for our students. Finally, a significant number of our students opt for arts courses in higher education and pursue careers in this area.
